The EYIDAPP Design Build Competition winning proposal will be decided amongst the following jurors:

01 - PUBLIC COMMUNITY DOMAIN: PUBLIC POLL TO BE HELD ONLINE AND AT CAFE MOSAICS (1 VOTE)

 

02 - CITY DOMAIN: 

KIM SIMKIN | FESTIVAL & EVENTS LIASON AT THE CITY OF EDMONTON (1 VOTE)

Kim Simkin is a returning juror who represents the Transportation and Public Safety requirements for URBPRK. A good design should consider storm water draining, the transition between urban park and public road, and public safety.

03 - URBAN PLANNING: 

RACHEL LEE | PLANNER AT THE CITY OF EDMONTON (1 VOTE)

Rachel Lee is an urban planner with a strong passion for building vibrant and sustainable communities. She was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea and moved to Toronto where she completed her city planning studies. She now works for the City of Edmonton as a development planner. Her experiences living in three major cities cultivated her interest of history, culture, and the connection between people and their cities. She believes that well designed urban spaces is not just about creating beauty, but creating vibrant cultural scenes that is socially and environmentally friendly for everyone to enjoy and make connection with.  

04 - ARCHITECTURE: 

JESSIE ANDJELIC |  ARCHITECT AT SPECTACLE BUREAU FOR ARCHITECTURE AND URBANISM (1 VOTE)

Jessie Andjelic has worked with notable architecture firms Sturgess Architecture in Calgary and Powerhouse Company in Rotterdam, and has led design teams on three competition wins. Her range of projects includes private houses, multi-family and mixed-use housing, civic centres, university buildings and masterplans. She graduated from the University of Calgary in 2009 and was recognized with the University of Calgary Faculty of Environmental Design Gold Medal, the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada Student Gold Medal and was nominated for the Prix de Rome for Emerging Practitioners. Jessie co-founded SPECTACLE Bureau for Architecture and Urbanism in 2013 and currently works as a design studio sessional instructor at the University of Calgary.

05 - LOCAL BUSINESS SPONSOR: 

RUTH BELLAMY |  MANAGER AT CAFE MOSAICS (1 VOTE)

Ruth has been working for Cafe Mosaics for the past three years, and has lived in Edmonton for more than ten years. She is excited about the initiative of URB PRK and the life it brings to Whyte Avenue. She is is looking for a creative design that offers a welcoming space for the community. A space that can be an escape from the busy streets, while also being a place for local artists to show off their talents.
